WHO IS COACH ZHA?

I want to see you happy, healthy, and healed.

Coach Zha is a dedicated mother, marathoner, and a trailblazer within the wellness industry. As a Nike Well Collective Trainer, Certified Pilates Instructor, Solidcore Coach, and Founder of Coach Zha Pilates Club (formerly Black Girls Pilates Club) and The Wellness Crawl, her mission is to make holistic wellness more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all.

Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Zha's journey with movement began at the Point Breeze Performing Arts Dance Center at the young age of eight. She continued her dance education at the Creative and Performing Arts High School in Philadelphia before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College. As the daughter of a teenage mother and a Ghanaian father, Zha’s life has been shaped by resilience, ambition, and a deep passion for fostering representation in the wellness space.

After college, Zha moved to New York City to pursue a career in creative production, collaborating with renowned brands such as Ogilvy, Nike, Kamp Grizzly, and Westbrook. It was during this time, while training for the NYC Marathon, that she discovered her love for running. This passion led her to establish inclusive run clubs in Brooklyn, NY, and Beaverton, OR, aiming to create welcoming fitness communities for underrepresented individuals.

Driven by this same desire for inclusivity, Zha founded Coach Zha Pilates Club (formerly Black Girls Pilates Club) in 2022. This initiative arose from her personal experience with postpartum depression and the recognition of a significant lack of representation and community within the Pilates world. Through CZPC and The Wellness Crawl, Zha is deeply committed to breaking down barriers in the wellness industry, ensuring that Black women and men feel valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Currently, Zha teaches strength training at Solidcore and classical reformer Pilates at Lumos. She also leads "Pilates and Plunge," a residency program at the W Philadelphia Hotel, and will soon host "The Essence of Wellness," an international wellness retreat in Ghana, West Africa.

Through her innovative events, transformative classes, and engaging social media presence, Zha goes beyond teaching movement; she cultivates healing, encourages self-care, and promotes radical self-empowerment. She firmly believes that wellness is the ultimate form of self-care and that by fostering inclusive and supportive communities, everyone can unlock their fullest potential.
