WHO IS COACH ZHA?
I want to see you happy, healthy, and healed.
Coach Zha is a dedicated mother, marathoner, and trailblazer within the wellness industry. As a Nike Well Collective Trainer, certified Pilates instructor, and founder of The League by Coach Zha, she is redefining how people experience fitness—blending movement, community, and culture into something both elevated and accessible.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Zha’s journey with movement began at the Point Breeze Performing Arts Dance Center at just eight years old. She continued her training at the Creative and Performing Arts High School before earning her degree in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College. As the daughter of a teenage mother and a Ghanaian father, her story is rooted in resilience, ambition, and a deep commitment to representation.
After college, Zha moved to New York City to build a career in creative production, working with leading brands including Ogilvy, Nike, Kamp Grizzly, and Westbrook. It was during this time, while training for the New York City Marathon, that she discovered her love for running—later launching inclusive run clubs in Brooklyn and Beaverton to create space for community and belonging in fitness.
In 2022, she founded Coach Zha Pilates Club (formerly Black Girls Pilates Club), creating space for more inclusive and empowering experiences within Pilates. Today, that vision has evolved into The League by Coach Zha—a membership-based Pilates and wellness platform designed for those who are committed to showing up for themselves through movement and shared experience.
Zha is also the creator of the sold-out Pilates & Plunge residency at the W Philadelphia Hotel and the founder of the Philly-wide Wellness Crawl. Her work continues to expand through signature experiences like Café Pilates and her upcoming international retreat, The Essence of Wellness in Ghana.
Currently, she teaches reformer and mat Pilates at Lumos and strength training at Solidcore, bringing an athletic, intentional, and expressive approach to every class she leads.
Through her events, classes, and platform, Coach Zha goes beyond movement—she builds community, inspires accountability, and creates spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her philosophy is simple: honor your commitments, and everything else will follow.
